Since the release of Pokémon Go on July 6, the hype has been so high that servers running Pokémon Go has been encountering issues off and on. It was released in a handful of countries including, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. Pokémon Go was released in 26 new countries as of July 16.
Pokémon Go, an augmented reality game by The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, and Niantic Labs has become the top grossing app in the App Store since its launch on July 6. It is free to play and downloadable from Apple App Store and Google Play Store with in-app purchases.
In most Pokémon games, the adventure begins with catching Pocket Monsters also known as Pokémons. For Pokémon Go, it is more exciting as players can actually go out into the real world in search of Pokémons.
There is a lot more to catching Pokémon than simply hurling a Pokeball across the screen. For example, you will know how rare or how difficult a Pokémon is to catch by looking at the color of the ring around the Pokémon.
A green ring indicates a common Pokémon and easy to catch.
A orange ring indicates a rarer Pokémon which is of intermediate difficulty.
A red ring around a Pokémon is extremely hard to catch.
The biggest problem for Pokémon Go players living in rural areas is the lack of Pokestops and Gyms. Currently, the Pokestops and Gyms in the virtual world of Pokémon Go comes from Ingress, another game created by Niantic Labs. So if there are no active Ingress players in an area, there will be literally nothing much for Pokémon Go players to play with.
Pokémon Go is officially launched in the UK, one day after the release in Germany. It was already available in the US, Australia and New Zealand earlier last week. But nonetheless, some UK Pokémon fans found ways for early access by sideloading the Android APK or using a US App Store account to download the game.
Pokémon Go first released in Australia and New Zealand earlier last week followed by US half a day later. The game was not officially available in the UK until today. There have been server issues since its launch which halted the global release. As things are starting to smoothen up, the game continues to be rolled out globally.
